Netflix and HBO have come together to prevent you from sharing your passwords.

An estimated 13.7 million people enjoy Netflix but do not pay for the service. The streaming platform is working on how to limit the use of shared passwords and has powerful allies.

Bloomberg reports that Netflix has joined HBO and cable industry giants to develop new anti-practice measures that cost the streaming industry billions of dollars annually.

First, simple mechanisms will be sought, such as requesting periodic password changes and sending text messages to subscribers with a code necessary to continue looking at content.

It is also intended to limit access to some devices outside the same home. For example, a tablet or cell phone would be excellent, but a Roku in a second location would lose access.

If all this does not work, there are more extreme ideas. Bloomberg indicates that it will be considered asking users to register their fingerprint to access their account.
